In a natural burial your loved one is laid to rest in a biodegradable casket, shroud, or urn. There are no burial vaults or embalming fluid permitted. Serenity Ridge is a natural burial cemetery, so there are no manicured lawns. Our goal is to reinvigorate the native wildlife, trees, shrubs and flowers that naturally flourish all around the cemetery. Please refer to our “What is Natural Burial” page for more information.

Serenity Ridge offers Ground Burial sites for casket or shroud burials and Cremation Sites for cremated remains in an urn. We have sites available in various sections of the cemetery whether you are pre-planning, or if you are in immediate need. Please contact Serenity Ridge to make an appointment to select sites. Serenity Ridge can assist in selecting sites if needed.

Serenity Ridge maintains electronic records of precise burial locations. Maps to locate your loved ones can be provided upon request. We are updating our software to make it possible for families to locate their loved ones using our website.

Only markers provided by Serenity Ridge are permitted. Serenity Ridge will arrange for the name and dates of your loved one to be inscribed on the marker.

Serenity Ridge accepts cremated remains that are in a biodegradable urn. We offer 2’ x 2’ cremation only lots where cremains can be buried. Scattering is not permitted at Serenity Ridge.

Planting flowers or trees on graves is not permitted as it disrupts the natural environment and habitat. Serenity Ridge is committed to allowing the landscape to return to its natural state as we encourage the long-term restoration of the land.

Ownership of interment rights at Serenity Ridge allows an individual and their family the right to bury their loved one in a contract-specified grave. All other rights and responsibilities remain with the cemetery.

Taking an active part in the burial process can be an integral part of the grieving process. Families are welcome to personalize the burial ceremony to best commemorate their loved one. Serenity Ridge provides fresh flowers and encourages families to bring flowers as well. If a family would like to help fill in the grave, please let our staff know so we can accommodate this request.

There are two entrances to our trail network; one entrance can be found behind the parking lot and the other beyond Inspiration Point. There are signs along the roadways indicating where the trails are located. See maps below for reference.
